Box Score Monmouth led for the final 34 minutes in Sunday's 78-66 win over Westminster on Sunday afternoon at Glennie Gym.
 
The Scots used a 19-5 run early in the game to open up a 26-13 lead on a Will Jones' layup at the 11:44 mark. Monmouth kept the lead near double digits for the remainder of the first half before a 16-0 outburst at the start of the second half, opening up a 56-31 lead on Austin Holman's inside bucket with 16:12 left in the game.
 
The Blue Jays rallied late, but could only get as close as the final score.
 
Lamont Mitchell's 16 points led four in double figures, joined by Justin Aluya's 15, Jones' 11 and D.J. Swift's 10.
 
Monmouth opens their Midwest Conference schedule this coming weekend with a Friday-Saturday trip to Ripon and Beloit.
