DODSON PUMPS IN 25, BENCH ADDS 31 IN HIGH SCORING AFFAIR

Box Score Senior Keri Dodson scored nearly a third of Monmouth's points and the bench added almost half in a high scoring road loss Tuesday night.

Dodson poured in 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting, but the Scots came up short in a 91-78 loss at Eureka. Becca Gallis  opened the Scots' night, burying a 3-pointer on the first possession before the Red Devils countered with their own 3-ball. Eureka inched ahead, taking a 19-10 lead with three minutes left in the opening quarter and never trailed.

Led by freshman Carley Turnbull's 14 points, Monmouth's bench supplied plenty of offense with a 31-point night. Trailing 60-40 entering the third quarter, the Scots cut the margin to 62-49 when Turnbull's jumper followed a 3-pointer from Demi Johnson. Monmouth won the third period scoring battle 18-17, but still trailed heading into the final frame. Eureka again upped the margin, but the Scots' trimmed the deficit with the game's final two buckets from Dodson who drained a three and then scored on a layup.

Monmouth will host Fontbonne and MacMurray Saturday and Sunday with games set to begin at 3 p.m.
