Box Score The Fighting Scots had a tall task Tuesday night in Mount Vernon, Iowa, falling to the Midwest Conference favorites 3-0.

After dropping the first set tp Cornell 25-14, Monmouth rallied in Set 2, leading early before Cornell began to pull away late in the match. With the Scots trailing 12-11, the Rams served up four straight points and maintained that margin to the end. A close Set 3 began to go Cornell's way when the Rams rolled off six straight points to push the Scots back, evening Monmouth's conference mark at 1-1.

Monmouth returns home to host league foes Lawrence and and Ripon Friday and Saturday. Friday's match is set for 7 p.m., Saturday's is a 1 p.m. start.
