Box Score It doesn't get much closer than last night's match at Illinois Tech.

Monmouth and Illinois Tech battled for nearly 90 scoreless minutes before the Scarlet Hawks avoided going to overtime, slipping a shot to the back of the net with less than a minute left in regulation.

Defense ruled in the game as the two teams played nearly even for the first 89 minutes. The Scots nearly posted the first goal, but in the 81st minute Cadan Glattback's first shot was turned aside and his next a minute later sailed wide. Monmouth kept the pressure on and two minutes later Agustin Miranda's blast was blocked by a defender.

The Scarlet Hawks found the game-winner with 37 seconds left when Monmouth's defender blocked a shot, but IT captured the rebound and deposited it for the winner.

Monmouth concludes the season with a 2:30 match Saturday afternoon at Grinnell.
