Box Score Monmouth gave Lake Forest - picked third inthe Midwest Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll - all the Foresters wanted before falling 1-0 in the northern Chicago suburbs.

The Foresters squeezed in the game's lone goal in the third minute and then held on for the win. The Scots put exactly half their shots on goal as Agustin Miranda and Alvaro Alvarez put both of their shots on gal, but were turned aside by LFC's 'keeper. Monmouth threatened late in the game when Adam Stenzel shot sailed right and Cadan Glattback's header missed to the left, both in the final seven minutes.

The Scots are tentatively scheduled to play last Saturday's rained out game at Beloit on Wednesday, however, final details are yet to be completed.
