GALLIS POSTS WOMEN'S FIRST DOUBLE-DOUBLE OF THE NEW YEAR

Box Score Despite freshman standout Rebecca Gallis's dobule-double, the Fighting Scots fell at home in the first Midwest Conference contest of 2017, 65-43 in favor of the Lake Forest Foresters.
 
Early in the first quarter, the Foresters ignited a 13-0 run to stretch their lead to 19-5 before junior Izy Todd buried a three for the Scots' answer.
 
In the second, the Scots managed to outscore the Foresters 16-14, heading into the locker room at the half trailing 11.
 
The Foresters would start the second half with a hot start reminiscent of the first, quickly stretching their lead.
 
Freshman Jeni Crain contributed a double digit scoring performance  with 10 points to follow Gallis' 15 points and 10 rebounds.
 
The Scots (1-9, 1-4 MWC) host the Vikings of Lawrence this Saturday in a 1 p.m. tip.
