Box Score Monmouth's resiliency was on display at Lake Forest where the Scots rallied from a second half deficit to push the Foresters to the limit before falling 61-55.

Trailing 39-16 a minute into the third quarter,the Scots made good use of a timeout to construct an 18-6 run. Freshman Yvonne Ornelas ignited the rally with a 3-pointer and back-to-back steals before sealing her personal run with a bucket in the paint. Held to just four points in the first half, Keri Dodson then took charge, draining a three on her way to a team-high 25 points while pulling down 10 rebounds.

Monmouth continued to chip away in the third period and closed the frame on four straight buckets by Dodson. The juniors' 3-ball to open the fourth quarter pulled the Scots within eight at 49-41. The Scots inched to a 49-45 deficit two minutes later on Kayla Brotzman's second three of the game before Jeni Crain added more fuel to the comeback, scoring back-to-back layups in the final 90 seconds as the Scots stayed within four at 59-54 on Dodson's bucket with 32 seconds left. The Foresters sank three free throws in the final 30 seconds to hang on for the win over the Scots.

The Scots return home to host Knox Wednesday at 5:30 pm.
