Will Jones' two free throws with 5:55 left in the game put the Scots ahead for good at 64-63 in a game that saw 12 lead changes. Back-to-back buckets by
Lamont Mitchell and
Justin Aluya on his way to a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds pushed Monmouth's lead to 70-63 with just under two minutes left in regulation. Two more 'throws from Jones put the Scots up by nine at 72-63 with 1:17 to play, forcing Ripon to foul.

Monmouth made good on their trips to the charity stripe and used a layup by Mitchell to hold off the stubborn Red Hawks and avenge an early season loss at Glennie Gym.
