Box Score Monmouth rallied their defense in the second half but couldn't find the back of the net in the second 45 minutes in a 4-0 loss to Millikin for the Scots' home opener at Peacock Park.
 
The Big Blue scored early on a breakaway in the second minute and then added a pair of goals within a minute as the game neared the midway point of the first half to take a 3-0 lead at intermission.
 
The Scots' held the Big Blue to just five second half shots and fired four of their own, but none of their seven shots, four on goal, made it to the net. Chase Stroud and freshmen Cadan Glattback split time in goal for the Scots.
 
Monmouth will be at Illinois Wesleyan on Monday and return home on Sept. 15.
