Box Score In a familiar scenario, Monmouth ramped up the defense in the second half, but it wasn't enough as the Fighting Scots fell in Game 1 of the weekend tournament in to the host team, Wabash College, 4-0.
 
The Little Giants struck quickly, scoring off a penalty kick in the sixth minute before managing to tack on two more goals before halftime.
 
Nearly shutting out the Little Giants in the second half, the Scots managed to rally defensively. Monmouth kept Wabash out of the net in the second half until the 77th minute as Chase Stroud turned in a 10-save performance in goal.
 
The Scots will regroup and be back on the pitch tomorrow at 3 p.m. as they finish up the tournament with Hanover College.
