Box Score Monmouth stepped away from the Midwest Conference schedule, but not their intensity Saturday to lead from wire-to-wire in a 119-59 win over the Illinois Institute of Technology.

The Scots connected on 43 of their 70 shots from the field, including a 10-for-23 performance from beyond the arc to improve to 13-6 on the year. Monmouth opened with a 3-pointer from
Will Jones, a jumper from Paul Engo II and a layup by
Ben Friday to race out to a 7-0 lead in the game's first three minutes. The Scarlet Hawks briefly trimmed their deficit to three at 7-4 before Monmouth went on a 22-8 run and never looked back.

Leading 56-32 at the half, Monmouth kept up the defensive pressure, holding Illinois Tech's leading scorer without a point in the final 20 minutes.

Andrew Mathison came off the bench to lead four Scots in double figures with 20 points.
Lamont Mitchell added 15 while
Riley Blea and
Will Jones chipped in 13 each.
