WALSBERG SETS RECORD AS SCOTS WIN ON SENIOR DAY

Box Score The Fighting Scots would trail for only 6 minutes and 54 seconds in their Senior Night game before beating the Lawrence University Vikings 77-66 behind a record-setting performance.

Monmouth's suffocating defense would force nine Lawrence turnovers in the opening half of the game as the Scots rallied from an early deficit as Kelsey Walsberg pumped in four 3-pointers in the first half en route to a record-setting 10 treys in the game.

Senior Katie Houston got the Scots started on both ends of the court cleaning up the boards with six rebounds and finding the hoop for six points.

Tia Robertson got the Scots going in the paint, pitching in five points and five rebounds in the first 20 minutes.

To open the second half, the Scots pushed their lead to 13 before Lawrence found an answer. Andrea Wilkinson tossed in 16 points and eight rebounds to help the Vikings effort.

Lawrence was unable to contain Walsberg who – with previous record-holder Colleen Forrest in attendance – broke free for 18 more points in route to setting the Scots new 3-pointer record. Walsberg finished with a career-high 33 points on 10-of-21 shooting from beyond the arc.

Seniors Katie Houston and Emily Watkins pitched in 15 points and 12 points respectively as the combined to pull down 13 rebounds.

The Fighting Scots finish the year 5-18 overall, 4-14 in Midwest Conference play.
