Box Score Monmouth hit more than half their shots in the first 20 minutes, but couldn't sustain the hot hand in the second half, falling at Illinois College 79-60.
 
The Scots battled back from a 20-11 first quarter deficit, scoring on their first two possessions of the second quarter with a 3-pointer from Kelsey Walsberg and an inside bucket by Tia Robertson.  Monmouth continued to chip away, taking their first lead of the game at the 2:56 mark of the period on Emily Watkins bucket in the paint. Walsberg ended the half with a jumper on her way to a 20-point night, giving the Scots a 34-32 halftime lead.
 
After IC opened the second half with a bucket in the lane to tie, Katie Houston drained a 3-pointer to give the Scots their largest lead of the night at 37-34. The Lady Blues countered to regain the lead and finished the quarter with a 10-2 run. IC then finished off the game by pulling away in the fourth quarter.
