Box Score Monmouth took a 31-30 halftime lead, but frigid shooting in the third quarter doomed the Scots in a 72-59 loss at Knox.
Â
The Scots jumped out to a 22-17 first quarter lead on the strength of hitting 9-of-14 shots from the floor, but a combined 5-for-19 in the middle quarters allowed the Prairie Fire to climb out of the hole.
Keri Dodson's bucket in the final minute of the first quarter gave the Scots their largest lead of the night at 22-15 before the hot hands began to cool. Knox chipped way in the second frame, taking a brief lead before the Scots rebounded and pulled ahead 31-26 on
Izy Todd's 3-pointer.
Â
Maddie Dohleman's free throw to open the second half increased a one-point lead to tow at 32-30, but Knox heated up, hitting a jumper and a three on back-to-back possessions to take the lead for good.

Monmouth returns home to host UW-Platteville next Wednesday in a 7 p.m. matchup at Glennie Gym.
