Justin Aluya six minutes later staked Monmouth to a 10-point lead at 24-14 as Monmouth went on to open up a 42-30 halftime lead.

Beloit rallied in the second half trimming the margin to five at 58-53 with 8:59 left in regulation. Monmouth answered when Paul Engo's bucket in the paint ignited a 14-2 run as the Scots opened the lead down the stretch.

The Scots took advantage of 20 Buccaneers turnover, converting the miscues into 23 points.
