Box Score Monmouth took a 37-28 halftime lead at Eureka College Sunday afternoon non-conference contest before falling 89-86.
 
Three twenty-point scorers highlighted the afternoon for the Fighting Scots. Will Jones, Lamont Mitchell, and Justin Aluya each poured in over 20 points apiece and combined for 20 of the team's 38 rebounds.
 
The Red Devils, lifted by sophomore guard Shea Fehan's 40 point performance, managed to rally late in their home confines.
 
Aluya's bucket early in the second half gave the Scots a 12-point lead, their largest of the game before Eureka rallied.
 
With under a minute remaining, the Devils retook the lead on a Fehan 3-pointer, their first lead since the 15-minutes mark of the first half. A pair of late Aluya free-throws would pull the Scots within one with just 24 seconds left Jones' trey with seven second remaining pulled Monmouth within 88-86, but the Devils inched ahead by three, making the back end of two free throws. The Scots succumbed to the Devils when Aluya's 3-point in the final seconds missed the mark.
 
The Scots, 1-2 overall and 1-0 in Midwest Conference play, and will return home for a double-header weekend hosting the Ripon Redhawks on Friday, December 2^nd and the Beloit Buccaneers Saturday, December 3^rd.
