Box Score Monmouth used three goals in a nine-minutes span to post a 4-1 win over Cornell Friday at Peacock Park.

Kelsi Smith notched her first goal of the season, corralling a loose ball when
Darice Brooks' shot was rejected by the Rams keeper. Smith one-timed the shot as she beat the last defender in the 25
th minute.

Just minutes later Brooks took a feed from Smith and deposited it in the back of the net for what proved to be the game-winner. The Scots added their third goal in the 34
th minute on
Kara-Jade Gordon's first of two goals. The freshman finished off a feed from
Alex Izquierdo for a 3-0 halftime lead.

Cornell eventually got on the board in the 81
st minute to cut the margin to 3-1, but Gordon regained the Scots' advantage, scoring an unassisted goal in the 88
th minute for her team-leading ninth goal of the season.

The Scots will host Beloit in another Midwest Conference matchup next Saturday.
