Box Score Already in playoff mode with three games remaining, Monmouth kept pace inteh Midwest Conference race with a 2-1 win at Lawrence Saturday afternoon.

The Scots had a quick answer after falling behind 1-0 in the 30th minute. Justin Seeley ripped his second shot of the game past the Vikings' keeper just a minute after Lawrence had taken the lead.

Knotted at 1-1, Daniel Wells and Mario Sanchez combined to feed Agustin Miranda for the game winning goal in the 34th minute. Monmouth placed nine of their 11 shots on goal to keep up the pressure throught the match.

The win kept the Scots in fifth place, four points behind Grinnell for the final MWC berth. The teams will meet in Monmouth on Sat., Oct. 29. Monmouth plays at Illinois College Wednesday night while Grinnell is idle until the Saturday contest.
