Box Score Monmouth and UW-Whitewater battled each other and the weather Wednesday at Monmouth's Peacock Memorial Athletic Park.
 
Playing in early rain, neither team was able to break the ice through the first 45 minutes. The Warhawks eventually notched the game's lone goal in the 56^th minute after the Scots clear attempt was intercepted.
 
The Scots' Chase Stroud turned in an eight-save performance as Whitewater fired off 14 shots and for 14 corner kicks, 12 in the second half.
 
Monmouth resumes Midwest Conference play this weekend with home matches against Beloit and Lake Forest.
