RECORDS FALL IN SCOTS' SWEEP OF DEVILS

The Monmouth College swim teams set two program records en route to sweeping Eureka in the squad's first meet of the New Year Saturday afternoon.

The Fighting Scots re-wrote the 100-yard individual medley record book when Raheem Brown and Cassidy O'Connell each broke their own records and Cassidy Neely and Michelle Nafziger swam honor roll times. Brown eclipsed the men's mark with a 56.62 and O'Connell lowered the women's time with a 1:06.77. Neely and Nafziger finished 2-3 and cracked the record book with honor roll times of 1:16.34 and 1:17.33, respectively.

Monmouth's swimmers also turned in a trio of personal-bests in the 50-yard backstroke. Freshman Jake Hall's winning time of 27.52 was also his career best. Brooke Boldt touched first in the women's race with a PR of 32.53, just two one-hundredths ahead of Taylor Sutcheck's lifetime best of 32.55.

The Scots will host Knox and Lincoln next Saturday in the home season finale before wrapping up the regular season Jan. 23 at Principia.
