Box Score Senior Katie Houston pumped in another double-double for the Scots but they came up short in the 2016 home opener falling to Illinois College 77-56.
 
A tightly fought first half provided fans with back and forth action heading into the final minutes of the half. Led by Keri Dodson and Houston, the Scot offense hung close posting 26 points on 40 percent shooting from the floor in the first half. Turnovers and the battle on the glass proved to be huge as the Scots managed to win the glass but were unable to take care of the ball.
 
In the second half, Illinois College managed to secure both key statics and push their lead to 20. Led by Sydney Lett's 17 points, the Lady Blues pulled away in the second half.
 
The Scots will take to the road Saturday to face conference foe Lawrence University for the first time this season.
