Intense back-and-forth action started from the opening tip as no team gained more than an eight point advantage in the first half. The Scots , who had four turnovers in the first three minutes, settled in and forced nine Lake Forest turnovers that led to 10 points on the other end of the floor.

The Scots found balanced scoring early as Friday, Lamont Mitchel, and
Riley Blea each chimed in with 6 first half points.
Lake Forest managed to win the rebounding battle in the first half to the tune of 19-18.

As the first half sounded, the Scots led 34-31 following the dish from
Austin Holman and the lay-in by Friday with just seconds on the clock.

In the second half, the Scots low-post, three-headed monster awoke as Friday, Â Mathison, and Juhola made their presence known.

Searching for an answer, the Foresters found a hot hand in junior off-guard Andrew Toth who finished 9-14 FG, 4-6 from three, and poured in 22 points. Toth's hot shooting wasn't enough to lift Lake Forest.

With the victory, the Fighting Scots move to 11-6 overall, but more importantly improve to 8-5 in the Midwest Conference and hold sole possession of fourth place. Only five conference games remain on the schedule as the Scots cross the Mississippi and head to Grinnell College for a Wednesday night matchup. The Pioneers sit at 8-10 overall, 5-8 MWC, and in sixth place.
