Box Score Monmouth wiped out a fourth quarter double-digit deficit, but couldn't quite complete the comeback in a 69-64 loss at Lake Forest.
 
Trailing 44-31 late in the third quarter, Maddie Dohleman pumped in six straight points as the Scots trimmed the margin to seven with 1:40 left in the frame. The Foresters drained a 3-pointer in the final minute to regain their 10-point lead at 50-40 heading into the final quarter and added a bucket on their first possession of the final 10 minutes to push the margin to 12 at 52-40.
 
A Kelsey Walsberg 3-pointer followed to pull the Scots within single digits in the last quarter before Katie Houston drained back-to-back threes and a layup to pull Monmouth within one at 52-51 with 6:56 left. Keri Dodson's free throw then knotted the game and a free throw from Walsberg seconds later gave Monmouth a 53-52 lead.
 
Knotted at 63-all with 1:45 to play, the Foresters took the lead on a Brittany Avonts free throw and stretched the gap to three on a Michelle Ricolcol bucket with 1:02 left and held on for the win.
