Box Score Monmouth stayed within striking distance in the first half before falling to Grinnell 108-82 at Glennie Gym.
 
The Pioneers hit their first 3-pointer and the Scots' Andrew Mathison answered with a dunk, but that would be as close as the Scots would get. Grinnell inched ahead on a trio of consecutive threes before Nick Marema scored inside to cut the hole to 15-6 with 15:07 left in the first half.
 
The Scots shot more than 50 percent in the game, but the Pioneers connected on 25 3-pointers to put the game away.
 
Despite the loss, the Scots remain in second place in the Midwest Conference with four games to play.
