The Storm converted back-to-back bucket-and-one opportunities to erase a four-point deficit and take the lead for good with 3:50 left in the game. The teams had traded the lead 14 times in the contest before Simpson could gain the upper hand, building a 70-60 lead with 1:26 to play.

Monmouth rallied, nailing a tri of 3-pointers down the stretch to climb as close as three at 79-76, but the Storm which connected on 29 of 36 free throws in the game hit 10 free throws in the final minute to hold off the Scots.

Riley Blea pumped in 17 points to lead three Scots in double figures as
Will Jones posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Jon Calhoun rounded out the double-figure scoring with 13 points.
