Box Score The line up looked a little different for the men of Monmouth College soccer on Wednesday night in a 3-0 loss at Millikin.

The Fighting Scots were able to weather the first half storm of Millikin shots until a foul in the the box lead to a penalty kick in the 35th minute to give the Big Blue a 1-0 first half lead. Chase Stroud read the kick right but was unable to reach it before it found the back of the Scots net. Millikin's other 11 shots were turned back by the Monmouth defensemen.

The Fighting Scots opened the second half trying to defend a corner kick. The back line was unable to clear the ball and Millikin capitalized on the opportunity. In the 50th minute, the Millikin Blue Boys lead 2-0.

Late in the match, the Scots looked to find an answer but an unlucky bounce on a clearance led to a Millikin advantage heading toward the Fighting Scots goal. Stroud charged the ball but was unsuccessful in stopping the shot as the Blue Boys increased their lead to 3-0 in the 89th minute.

The Fighting Scots will head up north for a double header this weekend. First they will take on Lake Forest, Saturday the 17th, and then head into Wisconsin to take on Carroll on the 18th.
