Box Score Monmouth put up a formidable defensive effort at Grinnell Saturday before finally surrendering a goal in the 79^th minute of a 1-0 loss to the Pioneers.
 
Chase Stroud turned aside seven shots before Grinnell broke through with 10 minutes left in regulation.  The Scots held the Pioneers to just three first half shots in a defensive struggle for both teams.
