Reed Goodbred's bucket at the buzzer to end the first half helped the Scots overcome a cold shooting night, taking a 27-25 lead into the locker room. The teams traded the lead for the first seven minutes of the first half before the Scots began to pull away.

Will Jones hit a pair of free throws and a layup to begin Monmouth's 9-2 run that put the Scots ahead 43-33 on a
Cole Jackson 3-pointer with 9:00 left. The Foresters closed the gap to six at 50-44 four minutes later before the Scots began their late-game push.

With 1:19 left, Jackson corralled a Lake Forest miss and hit
Jon Calhoun on a breakaway. Calhoun's dunk made it 61-49 and two free throws from
Will Jones on the Scots' next possession gave them a 14 point edge at 63-49 with less than a minute to play. Jones and Jackson iced the game with a pair of layups in the final 23 seconds.

Jones finished with 21 points while Jackson added 12 off the bench and Calhoun dumped in 11.
