Box Score Monmouth led for all but eight minutes in a 70-59 win at Cornell.
Will Jones scored the Scots' first five points on his way to a 15 point, 10 rebound night as Monmouth controlled the first 10 minutes of the contest. Cornell mounted a raly thanks to three straight buckets in the lane and took a 20-17 lead with 8:21 left in the first half.
The Rams stretche dthe leadto six at 28-2 with 4:19 left in the half before the Scots came back, scoring on the last six possessions of the half.

Jon Calhoun followed with a pair of free throws and then a layup. After
Will Jones canned a 3-pointer,
Matt Juhola went inside-outside, scoring on a layup for a 33-28 lead with 1:01 left in the half and then draining a 3-poiner with :02 left to give Monmouth a 36-30 lead at intermision.
The Scots never trailed in the second half and used a 9-2 run midway through the final 20 minutes to open a double digit lead at 57-47. Monmouth then sank seven of eight free throws in the final minute to hold off the Rams and hold on to second place in the Midwest Conference standings.
