Box Score Monmouth controlled large stretches of the game, but needed a second half rally to clip Lawrence 74-57 and move into second place in the Midwest Conference.

Lawrence trailed most of the first half, but put together a 9-2 run in the final 2:43 of the first half to take a 32-28 lead. The Vikings upped the lead to 10 in the first five minutes of the second half before the Scots rallied to pull out the win.

Andrew Mathison hit a pair of free throws and
Riley Blea scored inside on the Scots next possession to trim the deficit to 44-38. After a Lawrence turnover,
Ross Langlois drove in the lane and converted the old-fashioned 3-point play. His bucket in the lane on the next possession pulled the Scots wo within 44-43 before Blea's inside jumper gave the Scots a 45-44 lead with 10:40 left.

The Scots eased into a double-digit lead on Mathison's jumper with 5:03 left and then upped their lead to 64-49 on another Mathison bucket with 2:35 left. The Scots then scored on their final four possessions to climb into second place in the league after Grinnell knocked off previous No. 2 Ripon 112-96.

Jon Calhoun added 13 and Blea chipped in 11.
