Box Score The Monmouth College Fighting Scots hosted the Hope College Flying Dutchman at April Zorn Stadium and dashed Hope 30-20 Saturday afternoon.

The game was highlighted by a strong defensive performance by the Fighting Scots who had six interceptions in the game.
Jacob Wilson tied the record for most interceptions in a game with three including a crucial pick in the end zone late in the game.
Jack Porter had an impressive showing as well with three sacks, four tackles for loss and one forced fumble. The defense for Monmouth was able to make crucial stops when needed, including a stop on a 4th down attempt deep in Scots territory and an interception by AJ Mesik late in the game to clinch victory.

Hope College was the first to score after a fake punt run brought the Dutchmen to the Scots 10 yard line and Brandon Zervas finished the drive with a 10 yard run up the middle. Monmouth answered with a seven-play, 74-yard drive capped off with a 34 yard run by
Michael Buehne.

The 2nd quarter opened up with back-to-back sacks made by Scots'
Logan Gigl and
Jack Porter. The Dutchmen's next drive began on their own 13 yard line but ended with a
Matt Barnes pick to put the Scots in great field position. The interception set up an eight yard pass to
Brandyn Jackson to take the lead 13-7. With 2:20 left in the half on the first play of the drive
Trent Rains broke off a 45 yard run to put the Scots up 20-7. Hope responded on the next drive with a 17 yard touchdown pass with only 11 seconds left reducing Monmouth's lead to 20-14 at half.

Midway through the 3rd quarter
Danny Muzzalupo nailed a 22 yard field goal to stretch Monmouth's led to 23-14. The Dutchmen tried to respond with a field goal of their own early in the 4th quarter but
Adam Parr came from the wing to block the attempt.
Jacob Wilson later returned an interception 59 yards for a Monmouth touchdown to push the Scots to a 30-14 advantage. Hope rallied with a 26 yard touchdown reception by Taylor Brynaert to close the gap to 30-20. With 4:20 left to play Hope was successful on an onside kick to get the ball at their own 46 yard line. The Dutchmen then drove to the Scots 17 yard line before
Jacob Wilson intercepted the ball in the endzone to stop the Dutchmen.

Hope had one last chance at their own 38 yard line and got to Monmouth's 46 yard line before AJ Mesik's interception clinched victory for the Scots.
