Box Score Monmouth got off on the right foot in Midwest Conference play, blanking Cornell 4-0 Saturday afternoon at Peacock Memorial Athletic Park.
 
Goalkeeper Luke Cogan had an easy day as the Scots' defense didn't allow a single Rams' shot. The Scot meanwhile fired off 23 shots, 15 on goal. Jake Cogan and Luke Vandenberg combined to feed Zeb Soignier for the first goal of the day. The score in he 34^th minute was followed by another net-finder three minutes later when Max Daniels converted a combined feed from Cogan and Daniel Guzman into a 2-0 lead.
 
Monmouth added to the lead with a Penalty Kick score off the foot of Chizobam Nkemeh in the 57^th minute. Nkemeh's second goal of the day came just five minutes later to give the Scots a comfortable lead.
