The Scots had taken an early lead on a bucket and a 3-pointer form Jon Calhoun on back-to-back possessions to open the game before the Pioneers could get their offense rolling. Carroll evnetually took the lead and increased the margin to 10 at 23-13 with 9:39 left in the first half.

A Cole Jackson trey briefly pulled the Scots back within one, but Carroll then hit a bucket-and-one to reclaim a double digit advantage they would hold the rest of the way.
