Women clinch conference tournament berth with win over Knox

Box Score Monmouth extended its winning streak against Knox to 33 games with a 109-87 win at Glennie Gymnasium.

Up by just four, 57-53 at halftime, the Scots capitalized on a 24-6 run midway through the second half to open up a 22 point advantage. They never looked back and extended the lead to as many as 27 en route to the 3rd highest point total in school history.

Monmouth put up huge performances on both ends of the floor, ripping down 68 rebounds and dishing out 33 assists as a team.

The seniors, on their last regular season game at home, showed up big for the Scots as Kaley Corban netted 21 points followed by three who had double-doubles.

Marla Willard tallied 17 points, 16 points and 9 assists falling just one shy of a triple-double while Kim Coleman finished with 13 points and 14 assists and Jacquice Cooper with 13 points and 10 boards.

The Scots clinched a MWC tournament berth with the win, but they are still one game back of league leading Cornell and St. Norbert.
