Box Score Monmouth only trailed for a brief moment in the first minute as they cruised to a 93-76 win over rival Knox.
The Scots went on an 18-4 run to end the first half. Cole Jackson scored 7 of his 20 first half points during that run which concluded with a Chad Thompson three pointer with 22 seconds left to make the score 50-22 in favor of Monmouth.
Monmouth led by as many as 31 and never led the lead slip under 16 points during the second half in a defensive effort that forced 19 turnovers. They were also efficient offensively, shooting 58.7 % from the field.
Jackson paced the Scots with 24 points and 7 rebounds and was joined in double figured by Jon Calhoun and Matt Juhola in double figures with 11 and 10 points respectively. Greg McClain added 9 points and 6 assists as well.
The win ended Monmouth's nine-game losing skid. They travel to Carroll University on Saturday for a matchup with MWC tournament hopeful Pioneers.
