Second half drought dooms Scots

Box Score A second half scoring drought cost Monmouth in a 67-53 loss at Lawrence.

The Vikings went on a 14-2 run early in the second half to blow open a close game. The Scots had trailed 34-28 in the final minute of the first half, but Lawrence drained a 3-pointer with :02 left in the period to take a nine-point lead into the locker room at 37-28.

Lawrence stretched the lead to double digits in the first four minutes of the second half before Cole Jackson's layup on a fast break cut the Scots' deficit to 42-33. Monmouth then went scoreless for the next five minutes as Lawrence took control, despite the Scots' 45-32 rebounding edge.
