Box Score Monmouth wasn't able to overcome a hot shooting stretch by Carroll late in the first half and fell to the Pioneers 73-57.

Carroll began a 23-12 run midway through the first half to open up a 38-17 lead with 3:30 left in the session before the Scots could regroup. Emily Warkins jumper and a pair of free throws from Paige Nord ignited Monouth's comeback with 3:17 left in the half. Three buckets from Kelsey Walsberg - two from 3-point range - closed out the Scots' scoring, trimming the deficit to 40-31 after the first 20 minutes.

Four turnovers to start the second half put the Scots in another hole, falling behind 52-33 in the first three minutes of the second period as Monmouth never got closer than than 14 points on two Tiffany Churchill baskets.

Nord led the Scots with 15 points while Walsberg added 13, hitting 3-of-5 from beyond the arc.
