Box Score Andrew Mathison scored four of his game-high 28 points in overtime as Monmouth edged Eureka 90-86 to end 2014 on a winning note.

Will Jones drained a 3-pointer in the final 25 seconds of regulation to force the game into overtime tied at 77-77. Jones then scored on the Scots' first possession of OT and Mathison added a bucket a minute later for an 81-79. After a three from the Red Devils,
Cole Jackson canned a 3-ball and
Chad Thompson scored off a fastbreak to give the Scots a five-point margin at 86-81 with 1:35 left. Jones then finished out the overtime period by sinking a pair of free throws with :02 left to ice the game at 90-86.

Neither team led by more than 11, although the Scots saw a 71-61 lead with 5:51 left in regulation evaporate. The Red Devils took advantage of two missed shots by the Scots and two turnovers on three possessions to climb back, taking the lead at 77-76 on a 3-pointer with 1:08 left before Jones' last minute heroics to force OT.

Mathison added 14 rebounds to go with his 28 points and Jones joined in the double-double with 15 points and 11 boards.
Riley Blea came off the bench to pump in 18, hitting all four of his 3-pointers and Jackson rounded out the double figure scorers with 11.
The Scots return home to meet Midwest Conference foe Lake Forest Saturday at 5 p.m.
