Box Score Monmouth led for all but three minutes in an 86-54 win over Knox Wednesday night.
 
After a slow start, the Scots jumped out to an 8-2 lead on buckets by Cole Jackson, Jon Calhoun and Ben Friday. Knox climbed back by hitting a combination of threes and free throws before a bucket by Will Jones and a 3-pointer from Nick Marema at the 5:59 mark put the Scots up 30-17 in the first half. Monmouth closed the half with a 7-1 run to take a 42-26 halftime lead.
 
Monmouth opened the second half with a pair of Reed Goodbred free throws, a Ben Friday bucket inside and a trey from Jones to stretch their lead to 49-48. The Prairie Fire never got closer than 19 the rest of the way as Monmouth moved to third in the Midwest Conference standings.
 
Andrew Mathison paced Monmouth with 14 points off the bench while Calhoun and Jones added 12 each. Friday rounded out the double figure scorers with 10.
