Box Score Paige Nord poured in 19 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, but it wasn't enough in a 68-63 loss at Eureka.
Neither team led by more than five in the first half of a game that saw 11 lead changes. Trailing for most of the first half, Nord gave the Scots the lead with a bucket at teh 6:56 mark to put Monmouth on top 18-17. Her jumper in the final two minutes then staked the Scots to a 29-26 edge before the Red Devils regained the lead on a layup with 30 seconds left.
Monmouth retook a two point edge when
Kelsey Walsberg came off the bench to drain a 3-pointer with eight seconds left in the opening half.
A bucket by
Kathleen Forrest at 17:37 of the second half gave Monmouth thier biggest lead of the night at 36-30. The Scots were never headed after Forrest's bucket until a Devil three with 9:52 left gave them a one-point advantage.
Eureka followed the go-ahead bucket with a 5-0 run and never trailed the rest of the way.
Walsbuerg joined Nord in double figures with 14 points on 4-of-8 shooting from 3-point range while Forrest added 12.
