Box Score Monmouth led wire to wire in an impressive offensive and defensive showing, topping visiting Grinnell 85-43.
A 3-3 tie was the closest the Pioneers could manage to get as Monmouth went on a 13-3 run to cruise to a 44-16 halftime lead.
The Scots held Grinnell to just 15% shooting in the first half and 26% overall. They also forced 22 turnovers in arguably their best defensive performance of the season. Monmouth scored 26 points off those turnovers and got 42 points off the bench.
Twelve Scots found the scoring column paced by Jacquice Cooper who netted 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in only 18 minutes of play. Kaley Corban and Kathleen Forrest both scored 9 points apiece.
The win put Monmouth's record at 13-4 on the season and 9-3 in Midwest Conference play, keeping them in a tie for 2
nd place in the standings.
