Box Score Monmouth fell off the pace in the Midwest Conference with a 69-56 loss at Cornell.

The Rams avenged a 24-point loss to the Scots 18 days ago by pulling away in the second half. Monmouth rallied from a six-point halftime deficit, taking a 31-30 second half lead on Kaley Corban's layup less than two minutes into the second session.

Neither team gained much of an edge in the final 20 minutes until Cornell went on a 13-0 run midway through the half to forge a 57-46 lead.

Cornell held Monmouth to 20-0f-56 shooting and outrebounded the Scots 48-35.

The loss dropped the Scots to 7-3 in the MWC, tying Carroll for the fourth and final playoff spot with eight games yet to play.
