Box Score Monmouth couldn't overcome a second half scoring drought, eventually falling to Coe 83-79 in overtime.
The Scots took a 52-44 on Nick Marema's 3-pointer with 9:20 left in the game, but a pair of Monmouth turnovers and four straight misses allowed the Kohawks to retake a one-point lead at 64-63 with six minutes left in regulation. Coe built their lead to five at 72-67 with 2:31 left before the Scots mounted their own comeback.
Jon Calhoun sank a pair of free throws to trim the Coe lead to three and Cole Jackson drained a 3-pointer with a minute left to knot the game at 72-72., forcing overtime as neither team could get an advantage in the final seconds.
Coe gained the lead for good with 1:59 left in overtime and then hit seven of their eight free throws down the stretch to hold off the Scots.
Jackson poured in a game-high 25 points for the Scots while Brandon Harroun came off the bench to add 16 and Jon Calhoun chipped in with 11.
