Box Score Monmouth played solid defense but couldn't find the back of the net in a 1-0 loss to Principia.

The Scots held the Panthers in check in the first half as Matt Schmidt turned aside five shots. Monmouth's defense tightened even more in the second half nearly cutting Principia's opportunities in half before a scramble in front of the goal resulted in the game's only tally.

Monmouth will be back in action Saturday when they travel to Coe for a 3 p.m. start.
