Tailgating Policy
Tailgating is permitted on the days of home football games to provide social gathering opportunities for small groups prior to the start of the game.

Corner of North Sixth St. and East Jackson, Monmouth
Turn South off of Rt. 34 at the stop light onto North Sixth St.

Rules and Regulations

The designated tailgating area parking lot at the corner of North Sixth St. and East Jackson opens four hours before kickoff and closes at 7PM following the game.

Tailgating activities are limited to this parking area for the four hours before kickoff and end at 7PM.

All persons and vehicles are to enter through the designated entrance.

Tailgating outside the designated tailgating area is not permitted.

Participants must have a vehicle in the designated tailgating area or be specific guests of someone with a vehicle in the tailgating area.

Those who are 21 or older will be banded or stamped for identification purposes.

No person shall sell, give or deliver alcoholic beverages to another person under 21 years of age. Only those 21 or older are permitted to consume or possess alcohol.*

All participants are to conduct themselves in a safe manner. Abusive and/or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

Propane and charcoal grills are permitted. It is expected that hot charcoal be disposed of in designated receptacles. Open flames are prohibited, including fire pits, portable fire places and tiki torches.

Trash receptacles are provided and all participants are expected to clean up their area.

Kegs (small or large), beer balls, bongs, funnels or any other devices intended to increase alcohol consumption are prohibited.

Open containers may not be taken outside the designated tailgating area.

All Monmouth College students are reminded that they are subject to Monmouth College rules and regulations.
College security will be present to assist in the monitoring and clearing of the area. Participants should be aware that abuse and/or failure to comply with this policy will result in an appropriate response from personnel including eviction, barring and/or assistance from local authorities.
*REMINDER: It should be noted that a social host may be liable to guests and others for injuries resulting from serving alcohol especially to a minor.
