Box Score Monmouth held Knox scoreless for the first four minutes of the second overtime in a 106-97 win over the Prairie Fire.
Knox had rallied in regulation and then hit a 3-pointer at the end of the first overtime to force the second extra period, but then went cold.
Mike DeDecker was anything but cold in OT, scoring 16 of his 23 points in the two extra sessions including all 10 of his overtime free throws. Nick Marema, who had 17 points by halftime connected for six of his game-high 26 points in the second overtime as the Scots pulled away.
Marema and Wes Dukeman posted double-doubles. Marema added 10 rebounds to go with his 26 points and Dukeman poured in 25 points and pulled down 14 boards.
