Box Score Monmouth shot the lights out and never trailed on Senior Day in a 97-62 win over Lake Forest.

The Fighting Scots hit their first three 3-point attempts and roared to a 44-28 halftime lead. The Scots took advantage of a Forester scoring drought to roll off a 17-0 run to lead 35-10 with 6:34 left in the first half.

After hitting 15-of-27 shots in the first half, the Scots hit seven of their first eight second half shots en route to a 36-of-55 night, including 10-of-18 from beyond the arc. A Forester free throw at the outset of the second half trimmed their deficit to 15 at 44-29, but they would get no closer.

Marla Willard’s double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds paced four Scots in double figures. Seniors Zipporah Williams chipped in 18 and Colleen Forrest added 12, all on 3-pointers. Forrest’s younger sister, Kathleen, joined the double-digit scoring with 11.
