Women down Beloit as Bittner earns all-time win record

Box Score Monmouth overcame early foul trouble to earn Melissa Bittner her 119th career win to become the winningest coach in program history after a 78-53 win over Beloit.

Five Scots scored double figures led by Marla Willard with 14 points and 9 rebounds and Kathleen Forrest with 14 of her own off the bench. Kim Coleman and Kaley Corban finished with 12 points apiece and Paige Nord added 10 points and 6 boards.

Beloit closed the gap to 47-41 with 12:39 left in the second half before the Scots went on a 16-5 run jump started by Willard jump shots on three straight possessions to take a 17 point advantage, 63-46.

The Scots shot 53% from the field in the second half and held the Buccaneers to 28%. Monmouth dominated the Buccaneers 44-20 in the paint and forced 27 turnovers while improving to 5-2 on the season and 2-2 in Midwest Conference play.
