Box Score Monmouth jumped out to a 9-1 lead but couldn't keep the momentum in the second half of a 104-85 loss at Illinois College.

IC battled back after the Scots got out to a fast start as the teams entered the intermission deadlocked at 43-43. The Blueboys had to rally for the halftime tie after the Scots hit their first three shots to start the game. After Monmouth's initial surge, neither team could gain more than a five point lead over the first 20 minutes.

The Blueboys hits three of their first five shots in the second half, two of them 3-pointers, to put Monmouth in a nine-point hole. A pair of buckets by Ben Friday pulled the Scots to within five at 54-49 before IC began heating up to stretch their lead back to double digits.

Friday and Jon Calhoun connected for 18 points each while Nick Marema added 16 and Cole Jackson 12.
