Marema pours in 31 as Scots cool Red Devils in OT

Box Score Nick Marema scored a game-high 31 points and Monmouth needed every single one in a 93-90 overtime win over Eureka.

The Scots had to rally late to pull out their first win of the year. Trailing 76-71 with 3:33 left, Ben Friday canned a pair of shots in the lane to draw the Scots within one. Eureka answered with a bucket from Connor Lincoln to increase the Red Devils lead back to three at 78-75. The Scots and Devils then traded free throws before Marema drained a three with 45 seconds left in regulation to eventually send the game into the extra session.

Monmouth never trailed in OT, but with the score tied 90-90 with three seconds left in the period, Cole Jackson drove the lane and scored his last two of 14 points on a lay-in to give the Scots a 92-90 edge. After a Eureka turnover, Marema iced the game with a free throw with one second left. The Scots held on when Eureka's desperation full court shot missed its mark.
